Based in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the artisanal soap factory BAO BAB produces and markets 100% natural organic artisanal soaps, without chemicals. The packaging is printed locally on recycled kraft paper.
For supple and regenerated skin, we have extracted the baobab pulp found in all our soaps. The baobab is a tree with a mythical appearance that dominates the African savannah from the top of its 30 meters. The world has finally realized the incredible benefits of its fruit, which is the richest in nutrients in the world: it is a concentrate of vitamins, antioxidants and fibre. It contains six times more vitamin C than an orange.
BAO BAB soap bars are superfatted. The macerate of sesame oil and medicinal plants produces a protective, more nourishing and softer soap. They are also composed of local aromatic or medicinal plants such as neem, peppermint, moringa, aloe vera, linyuka, baobab pulp, ylang ylang, cocoa, turmeric, coffee, etc.
These natural ingredients offer various virtues. Some soaps are indicated for combination and oily skin, others for fragile, sensitive and mature skin.
These soaps have the particularity of being a purely African product. Their manufacture mainly uses products purchased directly from local farmers in the DRC but also in certain neighboring African countries.
In terms of sustainable development, BAO BAB has made it its mission to follow the concept of eco-village. It is a set of habitats on a human scale where the priority is to place people and the environment at the center of all interests.
For example, BAO BAB encourages local farmers and artisans to sell their sesame seeds directly to it; or better yet, to provide him with oils that the villagers have produced themselves. There is no question of buying these raw materials in town. BAO BAB is committed to practicing fair trade by avoiding commercial intermediaries.
